About
Nerdliness.com is the brainchild of the three-headed nerdly machine made up of Luke Skoubo, Jeremy Caldwell, and Justin Stanley. One day, while toiling away at their day jobs with a dental software manufacturer (between games of PIG), they realized that, between the three of them, their experiences covered nearly the entire spectrum of computer-related goodness. Being the gracious, kind, and selfless people they were (and knowing that they could each use the good karma), they decided to share some of that knowledge with the rest of the world. And thus, Nerdliness.com was born.
Real life nerds solving real life problems.
It's not just a catchy slogan we came up with after one too many IPAs, but rather the impetus behind this site. We spend our days working on various and specific problems and, on the good days, we even manage to solve one or two. We're proud of the work we do, and we think our solutions could help out others facing similar obstacles. Not to mention the fact that we just think some of this is pretty damn cool, and we love the idea of showing other people how smart we think we are.
The vast majority of the articles and tutorials on this site were inspired by real issues we ran into during the course of our careers. The examples we use might be very specific, but we like to think that the underlying knowledge can be applied to other situations. Odds are that your specific situation is going to be quite different from ours, but that doesn't mean you can't still learn from our mistakes and experience.
And we're not RTFM-spoutin' nerds who think they're above helpin' a brother out. We're targeting that beginner-to-intermediate level nerdling, filling that gap between the "...For Dummies" line and the you-have-to-know-all-this-stuff-already-before-you-get-any-use-out-of-this-type reference material. We love getting questions, comments, and suggestions for new articles, too.
